11 YEAR-OLD GREENVILLE GIRL TO PERFORM IN THE NUTCRACKER
It's a chance of a lifetime for one local girl. 11 year-old Grace Wilson, of Greenville, the daughter of Jeff and Pam Wilson, has been preparing for her big stage debut in St. Louis. We talked with Grace about the big event coming up in December. She will be performing in the Nutcracker, next month at the Fox Theater. The show runs December 5th though 9th, and Grace will be in the shows on the 5th, 7th and 8th.
Grace and other children who were selected, will be dancing during the battle scene between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. She said they have had practices every Saturday and are now perfecting the routine. Grace admits that she’s a little nervous, but also excited because there aren’t many kids who get the chance to be on stage at the Fox. She said that she’s really grateful to be able to perform with such a great ballet company.
Grace attends Fusion Dance Center in Greenville and has enjoyed all kinds of dance for the last five and half years. Grace and her mother Pam went to auditions in St. Louis, last month, and found out that same day, that she had been selected to perform in the ballet.
The Nutcracker will be at the Fox Theater from December 5th though the 9th. The production is presented by Dance St. Louis, in cooperation with the Joffrey Ballet Company.
