GES OFFERING ONLINE REGISTRATION THIS YEAR

Registration for Bond County Community Unit 2 Students will be held August 6th through the 10th. However, the Greenville Elementary School is offering a new way to register children in grades K-5. Parents can visit www.enrollngo.com/ges, through August 15th, to fill out the necessary paperwork, pay your child's fees, and register them for this school year.

Scott Pasley, GES Principal, worked very closely with the software development company to design a system for the school district. Parents should log in as a "returning student" and use instructions on the site to obtain their password. All forms and fees can be processed on the site, including health information, bus routes and lunch payments. Parents will receive a confirmation email and follow up information regarding a supplies list, classroom information and bus route. There is a small fee added for processing each online registration. If you have any questions, contact Karen at the Greenville Elementary School at 664-3117 or Bob at 664-1420.

LOCAL OFFICERS PARTICIPATE IN RAPID RESPONSE TRAINING

Last week, deputies from the Bond County Sheriff's Department and the Greenville Police Department participated in "Rapid Response" training. According to Illinois State Police District 13 Captain, Mike Irwin, with the recent events like the shooting at Virginia Tech, this type of training provides law enforcement officials the tactics on how to efficiently and safely enter and move throughout a building in a crisis situation.

Irwin, who instructed the course, said that officers spent the morning at the Greenville Firehouse in classroom training, and then participated in the practical portion at the Greenville High School. Irwin said he was very impressed with the local officers on how they were able to execute, in an organized way, a disorganized task. He also thanked the school district for allowing them to use the high school for the "Rapid Response" training.
