COMET PRIDE ALL OVER TOWN

 

The whole community is supporting the undefeated Greenville Comets. We talked to Football Dad, Dave Doll who said he was elected to put up the signs around town because they were stored in his shed from last year. He was glad to spread the Comet Pride around town. 

 

Cheer on the undefeated Comets Football Team as they take on Columbia on Saturday in Highland, at 2:00 PM.

UTLAUT MEMORIAL FOUNDATION LAUNCHES 2008 YEAR-END APPEAL

 

The Utlaut Memorial Foundation is launching a year-end appeal to raise funds that will enhance patient safety through the purchase of new equipment and technological systems.  In 2007, funds raised through the year-end campaign helped offset the expense of the purchase of a monitoring system for the Family Birth Center.   Funds raised through the 2008 campaign will be used to purchase items to assist in the recent expansion and renovation of the laboratory, pharmacy, and imaging services departments.  Donations may be sent to Greenville Regional Hospital.  For more information, call 664-1230, ext. 3006.

 

 

BOND COUNTY BUDGET STILLS NEEDS DISCUSSING

 

The Bond County Budget Committee met earlier this week to discuss the current status of the 2008-2009 budget proposal.  Some changes were made and discussion centered on the time frame allowed for fiscal budget approval.  The next budget meeting was set for Tuesday, November 18^th, at 6:00 PM, and all following days through November 26^th, if and as needed until the budget is finalized and approved.  If necessary, budget meetings could be held every day from November 19^th - 26^th.

MILITARY PLATES NOW AVAILABLE IN VANITY AND PERSONALIZED FORMATS

 

Illinois veterans may now order military license plates in vanity and personalized formats.  "This is a small token of appreciation that we can extend to our military service men and women who have given so much for our country." said Secretary of State Jesse White.  Veterans who currently have license plates that do not expire within 90 days, may switch to a vanity or personalized plate for $29.00.  To switch plates or for more information, call 217-785-4175.
