BOND COUNTY BOARD DISCUSSES EMPLOYEE SALARIES

The meeting commenced with Board Members, Jack Langel and Joe Whalen being sworn in by County Clerk Randy Reitz.  Jill Franks was re-elected as Chairperson and Joe Whalen as Vice-Chairperson.

The Salary Schedule for employees was brought up at the most recent Bond County Board meeting.  Elected officials agreed the starting rate is too low.  Scheduled salaries and making salaries fair for all employees was discussed.  The board went over options for keeping these salaries competitive and fair to County Courthouse and County Clerk employees.  Discussion to give increases or leave salaries as is was tabled for the next meeting.

Representatives from ICIT were on hand to discuss insurance with the board. The Board received information from the company and will discuss this matter at an upcoming meeting.

To see the discussion and meeting in it's entirety, tune into New Wave Channel 3 at 6:00 o'clock tonight.

READ FINE PRINT BEFORE PURCHASING HOLIDAY GIFT CARDS

With gift cards expected to be one of the top choices for gifts this year, Attorney General Lisa Madigan wants you to be informed about gift card requirements.  Illinois law requires that all gift cards remain active for at least five years and all material conditions, including the expiration date and any fees, are clearly displayed on the card.  If an expiration date is not posted on the card, a toll-free number must be provided so the consumer can determine when the card expires.  If you discover you have purchased a gift card without the required information, contact the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division at 1-800-243-0618.
