VETERANS TRIBUTE TO BE CONSTRUCTED LOCALLY

 

Kaskaskia College has announced plans to build a Veteran's Tribute on the campus. This Tribute will honor Veterans from Bond, Clinton, Fayette, Marion and Washington Counties. The tribute will include the names of those that participated in all wars and all branches of the military, it will also include those that served during peace time. To date more than $11,000 has been raised for the tribute, and if you want to donate or have a question, call 545-3177 or 545-3062.


IDNR REMINDS SNOWMOBILE OPERATORS TO BE CAUTIOUS

 

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is reminding snowmobile operators and riders to take extra caution this year as the snow begins to fall.  Every year people are seriously injured or lose their lives on snowmobiles. Last year there were 66 injuries and 7 fatalities reported from snowmobile accidents. Wearing a helmet and always riding with a buddy are safety tips to keep in mind this winter.

 

HEART FAILURE SUPPORT

 

The Greenville Regional Hospital Education Department has announced that the next meeting for the Congestive Heart Failure Support Group will be Tuesday Dec. 30th at 1PM in the Hospital's Community Room. Congestive Heart Failure is when the heart cannot pump enough blood and oxygen to help other body organs. Some heart falure causes are: High Blood Pressure, Coronary Artery Disease and Diabetes. Currently there is no cure for heart failure, but some medicines are being used to help improve and extend the quality of life. A question and answer session will be held and refreshments will be served. Call 618 664-1230 for more information.
