FAIR BOARD MEETING FOR JUNE
The June meeting of the Bond County Fair Board was scheduled to be held this past Wednesday, but because the weather was favorable to plant corn, only 4 members were present and that was not a quorum, so the meeting was not held.
Board member Jerry Mollett conducted an informal meeting and answered questions concerning the location of the Vietnam Wall on the fairgrounds and plans for parking. It was reported the there are now 7 queen contestants for the 2008 Bond County Fair and 21 Little Misses and more contestants still may be added. The 2008 Bond County Fair books are being distributed by fair secretary Judy Debatin.
There is a need for repairs on the community building and the north rest rooms, and some of the tin roofing on barns needs to be re-nailed, as some has been blown off. There are some ruts that need to be filled and seeded.
The next Bond County Fair Board meeting will be Wednesday, July 9th and it is only 48 days until the time for the 2008 Bond County Fair.
