TORNADO SIGHTING NEAR MULBERRY GROVE

Shortly after 5:00 PM Wednesday, a trained weather spotter reported seeing a funnel cloud, close to the 48 mile marker of I-70, on the south side of the road.  A Bond County Sheriff's Deputy also reported a sighting of a funnel cloud that touched down for a few seconds.  Because of this the tornado sirens were sounded in Mulberry Grove. The National Weather service was contacted and said there was a possibility of rotation in a small storm over the Pleasant Mound area.  No watches or warnings were in effect at the time.

MULBERRY GROVE VILLAGE BOARD MEETING

At the Mulberry Grove Village Board Meeting Wednesday night, the board decided to stay with the current health insurance provider for village employees, but to go with a different policy.  The new policy has a $500.00 deductible, of which the board agreed to pay half.

Concerned village residents in attendance voiced suggestions for an amendment to the newly adopted animal control ordinance.  The board decided to schedule a special meeting for Monday, August 11th, at 7:00 PM, to consider the suggestions.

A request was received to close a street in Mulberry Grove that has not been used for many years. The board will consider the matter at a future meeting.

Several streets in Mulberry Grove are scheduled for oiling on August 19th.  A list of streets and a map will be posted in the village office.
