HIGHLAND GROUP HOME HAS ANOTHER MONTH

2009 could bring good news for a Highland Group Home.  The word got out the home will close due to lack of funding. Generous local and regional donors from California to Florida have sent contributions allowing the home to stay open through January.  Donations raised total more than $55,000. The Group Homes' sponsor, Community Link of Breese has put together a campaign to raise another $47,500 to allow the 5 residents to stay in their home for at least another year. To make a donation please visit www.firstgiving.com/communitylink or call Community Link at 618-526-8800

SENATOR FRANK WATSON REFLECTS ON 2008

With the year at an end we asked Illinois State Senator Frank Watson what he remembers of 2008 and what we can look forward to for 2009.  Senator Watson thought the biggest thing will be going forward from the Governor's situation. The Governor's arrest will shake up the whole process, but Watson hopes that the Governor will resign and we, as a state can move forward with a new Governor.
