FREE FISHING DAYS THIS WEEK

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is once again having Free Fishing Days from Friday, June 5th until Monday, June 8th. Free Fishing Days allows all anglers to fish in state lakes and rivers without having a valid fishing License. This event helps to promote families fishing together and hopefully someone will get hooked on fishing. A number of organizations throughout the state have planned special events.

For example, at Patriots Park on Saturday June 6th, a fishing derby for kids under the age of 15 will be held at 9:30am with registration at 9am, and at Carlyle Lake a kids fishing derby will be held at 8:30 am Saturday, June 6th at the Dam West Spillway.
