SCHOOL DISTRICT RECEIVES MORE MONEY FROM THE STATE

At the recent Bond County Unit 2 School Board meeting, a report was presented concerning money that the State still owes to the District. Assistant Superintendent Eric Frankford presented a spreadsheet report and explained that currently the District has received 75% of the monies owed to them by the State. Last fall the state was lagging behind by 50% and there was concern that was going to be the best the district would receive. Frankford pointed out that because of the large state deficit, there is no guarantee that the District will ever get 100% of what it is owed. Federal funds on the other hand have been received, and combined with the state, the district has received almost 95% of what it is due.
