MONEY FOR NEW SENIOR CENTER
Late last week a public hearing was held concerning the new Senior Center. WGEL spoke with Anna Oestreich about the meeting. Anna said that the new building was the topic of the hearing. Because the Senior Center will need to borrow the balance of the funding to proceed with construction, they will obtain a loan from Rural Development. The Bond County Board has applied for a state grant on behalf of the Senior Center for construction. Any funding received from the state grant and the $200,000 in state money earmarked for the Senior Center in the recently passed capital plan will lower the amount that will need to be borrowed in the Rural Development Loan. Also at the meeting, renderings and floor plans of the completed building were presented so everyone could see what the building will look like when done. Those renderings are in your WGEL Daily below, and were provided by the Korte Company out of Highland.
