MATER DEI GRAD GETS TWO HITS IN FIRST MLB GAME
Josh Thole is a 2005 graduate of Mater Dei and last week he was called up to the New York Mets and started his first game at catcher for the Mets Thursday. Thole went 2 for 5 with a deep double to center and he stole a base. Thole also singled in his first ever Major League at bat in the Mets win over the Rockies.

FOOTBALL COMETS WIN
The Greenville High School Football Comets defeated Piasa Southwestern 28-14 Friday night to improve to 2-0 on the young season. Behind Todd Eaton's 164 yards passing and Brian Doll's 131 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns, the Comets were able claim a share of first place in the South Central Conference. The Comets next travel to Carlinville this Friday to take on the Cavaliers at 7PM and you can hear that game live on WGEL Radio 101.7FM.

DR CHARLES DAISY
Dr. Charles R. Daisy, age 72 of Greenville passed away Thursday September 3rd in Naples, Florida. Funeral services for 72 year-old Dr. Charles Daisy will be Wednesday at 10am at the Greenville First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM at the Greenville First Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Greenville Regional Hospital or the University of Illinois Foundation. Young Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of the arrangements.
