BOND COUNTY UNIT 2 SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

The Bond County Unit 2 School Board of Education met Monday night at the media center at Greenville High School and the 2010 budget was presented for the district. According to district reports, all payments due to the district from the state will be received, but these payments will be one payment behind. According to Assistant Superintendent Eric Frankford, the district is in good financial health, but the state has cut 10% from some programs for next year. The un-audited budget, as it currently stands, shows a deficit for the next fiscal year of around $460,000 dollars in part because of the state cuts. The state of Illinois, which is still in a financial crunch, may eliminate more programs or funds, which will impact the district's budget.
