MARION MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO BANK ROBBERY
Frederick G. Goosby, age 36, of Marion, Illinois, pled guilty recently to a one-count indictment, charging him with bank robbery. The violation occurred August 3, 2009 in Murphysboro, Illinois. The offense carries a penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of three years supervised release.

COMETS MOVE ON TO THIRD ROUND
The Greenville Comets football team won a nail-biter Saturday afternoon, beating Fairfield 29-21 at Fairfield. The Comets were behind at halftime 15-7 but scored three touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 29-15 lead. Then the Comets defense once again held an opponent to one score in the second half to win 29-21. The Comets will now host the Pana Panthers in the third round of the playoffs. Pana defeated Anna Jonesboro 36-29 at Pana Saturday. The Comets vs Pana game is Saturday at 2PM and you can hear the game live on WGEL Radio.
