FRAUDULENT EMAILS REFERENCE STATE VACCINATION PROGRAM

According to information from Bond County Health Department Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Julie Rathbone, a fraudulent email message, requesting users create a personal H1N1 Vaccination Profile on the cdc.gov website, is being circulated.  The CDC, or Communicable Disease Center, has NOT implemented a state vaccination program requiring registration.  Users that click on the email are at risk of having malicious code installed on their system.  The CDC suggests the following steps to reduce the risk of your becoming a victim of such a phishing attack.  Do not follow unsolicited links and do not open or respond to unsolicited email messages.  Use caution when visiting un-trusted websites and when entering personal information online.  If you have questions, call 664-1442, ext. 135.
