ACCIDENT WITH INJURY ON SAWMILL ROAD

 

Bond County Sheriff's Officers responded to an accident with injuries Sunday morning.  According to the accident report, Ronald C. Moussette Jr., age 27, of Pocahontas, was southbound on Sawmill Road at 1:33 Sunday morning when his 2001 Pontiac Grand Am left the roadway on the east shoulder.  The car continued into the east ditch where it struck a concrete culvert and broken concrete causing the car to become at least partially airborne before landing in the grassy lawn of a private residence.  The car came to rest on the passenger side.  Bond County Sheriff's Deputies transported Mousette to Greenville Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries.

FATAL VEHICLE CRASH THIS WEEKEND IN TROY

 

The Madison County Sheriff's Department investigated a one-vehicle crash, over the weekend, that resulted in a fatality. According to a press release from the Madison County Sheriff's Department, Mathew P. Kleemann, age 27, of Highland, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sheriff's Office was notified of a crash Saturday night around 10:00 p.m. on Riggins Road just south of Crystal Lane outside of Troy. When they were notified, the vehicle was already engulfed in flames and Troy Firemen were dispatched and put out the fire. The vehicle was a 2005 Saturn and apparently was travelling northbound when it left the road and struck a tree. Kleemann was the sole occupant of the vehicle.


BANK ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED

 

Just before noon Saturday, a bank in Lebanon was robbed. According to Brad Ware, media representative for the Springfield division of the FBI, three men held up a Regions Bank branch in Lebanon and fled the scene. The three were arrested Saturday afternoon and are currently being held.  Lebanon Police, O'Fallon Police, Illinois State Police, and the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department all assisted Saturday afternoon with the initiation of the investigation, currently being headed by the FBI.


GREENVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING

 

The Greenville City Council will have a special meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. Some of the items on the agenda include: personnel matters, litigation and the sale or acquisition of land.

TERRI LYNN PALMER

 

Terri Lynn Palmer, age 44, of Wood River, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away Saturday, December 19 at her residence. Funeral services for 44 year-old Terri Lynn Palmer will be Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m. at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. until service time at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Terri was the daughter of Jack and Karen Heilig of Pocahontas.

 

RUTH FULLER

 

Ruth Fuller, age 88, of Coffeen, passed away Sunday, December 20 at Hillsboro Health Care. Funeral services for 88 year-old Ruth Fuller will be Tuesday the 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church in Coffeen. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen is in charge of the arrangements.

 

JEFFREY M. HOILES

 

Jeffrey M. Hoiles, age 67, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, December 19 at Frankfort Regional Hospital.  Graveside funeral services for 67 year-old Jeffrey Hoiles will be Wednesday, at 3:00 p.m. at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville.  Friends may call Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville.  Memorials are suggested to the Greenville First Presbyterian Church.

 

VAREL W. R. "TIGER" SACHET

 

Varel W. R. "Tiger" Sachet, age 80, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, December 20.  Funeral services for 80 year-old Varel "Tiger" Sachet will be Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. at the Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland.  Burial will be in St. John Baptist Cemetery.  Friends may call Tuesday, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, from 8:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Heartland Hospice or Trenton Village.
