TWO MEN STUCK IN HIGH WATER ON DOLLS ORCHARD ROAD

 

Two men in a Stewart Sanitation garbage truck that was stuck in high water on Dolls Orchard Road brought out multiple rescuers early Monday afternoon.  According to the fire department report, a motorist came around from the other side of the road and rescued the two men, taking them to dry land.  The garbage truck was pulled from the water by a farm tractor around 4:15 p.m. Bond County Deputies and Pocahontas Firemen responded to the scene and Greenville Firemen were called for mutual aid.

 

ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES ON SORENTO AVENUE

 

Bond County Sheriff's Officers responded Sunday morning at 10:22 to an accident with injuries on Sorento Avenue.  According to the accident report, Harold Lloyd Collier, age 58, of Sorento, was eastbound on Sorento Avenue when his vehicle allegedly started to slide on the ice and snow covered roadway.  Collier's 2002 Ford Explorer turned around 180 degrees before traveling off the north side of the road and down an embankment.  The vehicle rolled over, coming to rest on its top in the ditch.  Bond County EMS transported Collier and passenger, 56 year-old Sheryl Collier, to Greenville Regional Hospital for where they were trated and released.
