NINE MAILBOXES DAMAGED
Highland Police are investigating reports of damage to mailboxes on Easy Street, St. Michael Court, St. Raphael Court, and Paradise Drive. Eight calls were received Saturday morning and a ninth call Saturday afternoon.
HEALTH OCCUPATIONS APTITUDE TEST GIVEN AT KASKASKIA COLLEGE
A Health Occupations Aptitude Test will be administered Friday, February 19 at 9:00 a.m. and again at 1:00 p.m. on the Kaskaskia College main campus. Students interested in applying for the medical laboratory technician, occupational therapy assistant, surgical technology, or veterinary technician programs must take this test before being admitted to these programs. There is a fee of $20.00 to take the test and you must pre-register. To register or for more information, call 545-3053.

Richard B. "Dick" Barron, age 78, of Highland, passed away Sunday, February 14 at his residence. Funeral services for 78 year-old Richard "Dick" Barron will be Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m. at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. There will be a private burial with full military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Alzheimer's Association.

Marie M. Hemker, age 85, of Bartelso, passed away Monday, February 15 at her residence. A funeral Mass of Christian burial for 85 year-old Marie Hemker will be Thursday, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Bartelso. Burial will be in St. Cecelia Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown. Lenore L. "Babe" Frey, age 93, of Highland, passed away Sunday, February 14 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland. Funeral services for 93 year-old Lenore "Babe" Frey will be Friday, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
