SEMI-TRUCK ROLLOVER ACCIDENT ON I-70 THURSDAY MORNING

 

Greenville Police and Bond County Sheriff’s Department Officers, Illinois State Police and Greenville Firemen were dispatched this morning at 4:06 to the scene of a semi-truck rollover accident on I-70 in the westbound lanes at the 41 mile-marker, between Greenville and Pocahontas.  No injuries were reported but firemen were called to wash down a fuel spill.  Both lanes of westbound traffic on I-70 were closed for a while this morning.  According to the fire report, firemen stopped a fuel leak.  They were on the scene for about two hours and fifteen minutes. 


MULBERRY GROVE VILLAGE BOARD MEETING

 

At the Mulberry Grove Village Board meeting Monday, the board discussed a request for installation of a stop sign at the intersection of Pearce and Walnut Streets.  The matter was tabled until the June meeting. Action was taken to install a lock on the light switch at the park as a money saving effort. The village finance committee will meet Monday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 7 at 7:00 p.m.

CARLYLE SAILING ASSOCIATION HOSTS FREE OPEN HOUSE

 

The Carlyle Sailing Association, located in Hazlet State Park on Lake Carlyle, will be open to the public Saturday, May 22 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Visitors may tour the grounds, meet members, and weather permitting, enjoy a ride on a variety of sailboats.  No pre-registration is needed.  Call 618-594-3622 for more information.

IHSA BASS FISHING FINALS AT CARLYLE LAKE

 

The Illinois High School Association Bass Fishing Finals will be at Carlyle Lake Friday and Saturday, May 7-8 on the Dam West Boat Ramp.  To accommodate tournament activities, the Dam West Boat Ramp will be closed to the public from Tuesday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m. Monday, May 10.  For information on the fishing finals, call 618-594-2484.

GREENVILLE PLAN COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

 

The Greenville Plan Commission will hold a public hearing Monday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Greenville Municipal Building.  The hearing is to consider preliminary plat approval of Country View Estates-Baldwin Addition subdivision, located on Eagle Drive and the proposed Oriole Drive.  For more information, call 664-1644.
