CELEBRITY PIE AUCTION STARTS ON MONDAY
The WGEL Celebrity Pie Auction begins Monday, May 24 with coaches Cantrill and Hutchinson at 6:30 a.m., Pocahontas Principle Eric Swingler at 7:00, Bond County Treasurer Katie Weiss at 7:30, Ryan Mifflin from Greenville Regional Hospital at 8:00, Randy Alderman from Bradford National Bank at 8:30, and FCI Warden Audi Sherrod at 9:00. Please tune in and help raise money for the Bond County Relay for Life.
CARLYLE LAKE TO HOST TRIATHLON
There will be a triathlon at Carlyle Lake Sunday, May 23 starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Dam West Day Use Area. Beginners and advanced entrants will compete in a timed swim, run, and bike course. The bike course will include Clinton and Bond County roads and Lake Road, adjacent to the Dam West Recreation Area, will be temporarily closed from 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. due to the number of participants and public safety. STROKE AWARENESS PROGRAM AT GREENVILLE REGIONAL HOSPITAL
May is National Stroke Awareness Month and Greenville Regional Hospital, the Bond County Health Department and the Illinois Department of Public Health are partnering to present “Stroke Awareness & Risk Management,” a free community education event. The program will be in two sessions Thursday, May 27 in the hospital’s community room.
