TEXTING IS WORST DRIVING DISTRACTION FOR TEENS

Distracted driving is anything that diverts a driver’s vision from the road, results in loss of manual control of the vehicle, or causes thoughts other than driving.  Texting while driving is the worst distraction because it involves all three types of distraction.  Teens are accustomed to being instantly connected with others and have trouble breaking that connection.  They are often also inexperienced drivers.  The combination of inexperience and texting results in more distracted traffic accidents involving teen drivers.  The best solution to texting while driving is, just don’t do it.  When it comes to texting, wait until later or pull over and stop to text.
