BODY FOUND BY VANDALIA CITY WORKERS
Monday morning two Vandalia City workers found a man’s body in the Vandalia City Rock Storage area on North 8th Street. According to Fayette County Coroner, Bruce Bowen, the body is believed to be that of 42 year old Brian Tuttle of Vandalia who has been missing since May 19th of this year. Positive identification is expected soon, and will be based on examination of dental records. Vandalia Police told WGEL Radio there were no signs of foul play at the scene but the investigation continues. An autopsy is planned to help determine cause of death.
MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT LEAVES MAN IN SERIOUS CONDITION
A motorcycle accident early Monday has sent an area man to the hospital with serious injuries. According to a crash report from the Illinois State Police, around 7am, Timothy Stille, age 53 of Alhambra, riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle, was northbound on I-55 just south of milepost 20 in the left lane when he allegedly tried to avoid an object in the road, lost control, slide across the right lane and struck the guardrail. Stille was taken to Anderson Hospital in Maryville with serious injuries. Stille was wearing a helmet.
