Kingsbury Park District

The July Kingsbury Park District meeting was held this past Monday night. In the directors report, Jerry Sauerwein told the board that the bathroom area of the new building at JC Park should be ready soon. The demolition of the old concession building won’t take place until after the baseball season is completed this year.

Greenville College will be participating again this year in the program where the incoming freshman spends a day with KPD staff to help with nature projects.

This year’s donations at the Fourth of July fireworks brought in $1030 which was up a couple hundred from last year. Sauerwein reported that the new electronic firework system worked out well this year, but next year they will slow down the program a little.

The board decided to keep the same officers this year as last year with one exception, being the board secretary. The officers are Tommy Simpson President, Shannon McGuire Vice President, Dave Oestreich Treasurer and Jerry Sauerwein as Secretary. The Board then went into executive session to discuss personnel.
