55 COUNTIES IN ILLINOIS DECLARED DISASTER AREAS
It’s been a top ten summer for rainfall amounts this year. Flooding, from excessive rain, has caused problems for area farmers. Earlier this month, the USDA designated 55 counties in Illinois as disaster areas. The 55 counties include Bond, Clinton, Fayette, Madison, Macoupin, Effingham and Montgomery. The designation means that low interest Emergency or EM loans are available from the Farm Service Agency, for those that qualify. Those interested in the EM loans are urged to contact their local FSA office for more information and qualification requirements.
