ICY WEATHER CAUSES ABOUT A DOZEN CRASHES AND CARS SLIDING OFF THE ROADS
The icy weather last night caused over a dozen accidents and vehicles sliding off of roadways. While most of the accidents did not involve any reported injury, one on Millersburg Road and Airport Avenue did. With deputies and police responding to so many accidents no other information is available at this time. Accidents were reported through out the county with 7 happening inside Greenville city limits. Roads will still be slick in many spots this morning and remember to watch out for sidewalks and take extra care traveling anywhere today.
SHOOTING INVESTIGATION IN RAMSEY
The investigation continues into the shooting death of 50 year old John Russell of rural Montgomery County. According to the Illinois State Police, Russell was found shot to death in front of his resident on Stump Lane in Ramsey. A person of interest has been taken into custody and at news time was being held at the Shelby County Jail, no charges had been filed as of late afternoon.
The Illinois State Police told WGEL that the investigation is continuing and they are presenting evidence to the Montgomery County State’s attorney. It’s unclear at this time if charges will be filed, no other information has become available as to who the person of interest is or how and why the shooting occurred.
KASKASKIA COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO MEET
The Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees will meet Thursday, December 16th. The Board will be asked to approve the first reading of the Academic Renewal Policy, approval of a resolution of disposal of College Equipment, discuss the AQIP program, and personnel actions.
