COUNTY BOARD APPOINTS NEW CIRCUIT CLERK AND ACCEPTS HIGHWAY ENGINEER RESIGNATION

RED FLAGS FOR JOB SCAMS

If you are unemployed and looking for a job, beware of scams associated with job offers.  It may be difficult to detect a scam so the Better Business Bureau has identified some “Red Flags” for you.  If the employer offers the opportunity to become rich without leaving home, be wary, this is a common area for scams.  You should not have to buy something to get a job so if the employer asks for money up front, it might be a con.  If the salary and benefits offered seem too good to be true, they probably are and should be avoided.  If you are immediately asked for personal information such as Social Security of bank account numbers before you have confirmed the job is legitimate of the job requires you to wire money through Western Union or MoneyGram to receive and forward suspicious goods, do not do it.  Odds are you will lose money.  Evaluate job offers carefully and avoid those that “sound too good to be true."
