KING AND QUEEN CROWNED AT MULBERRY GROVE PROM

Mulberry Grove students and faculty enjoyed the annual prom last Saturday, April 29 at the Mulberry Grove High School.  Junior class sponsor Denyse Blankenship said thanks to the creative talents of the other junior class sponsor John Barnes and members of the class of 2012, the high school gym was magnificently decorated as a dance club with the theme “Electric Avenue.”  A “paved” avenue led students from the dance club to al fresco dining where they gathered, talked, and enjoyed refreshments.  The highlight of the evening was the coronation of a new king and queen.  Retiring Queen Briquell Hunt and King Drew Koonce were in attendance to pass on their crowns to new Queen Katie Cayo and King Zach Heilig.  Seniors in the prom court included Joanna Brewer, Jennifer Kendall, Allen Tompkins, and Harley Steed.

DEPT. OF INSURANCE URGES REVIEW OF FLOOD POLICIES

The Illinois Department of Insurance is once again reminding homeowners and renters to prepare in advance for the possibility of floods by reviewing policy coverage and making informed decisions about the need for flood insurance. Property owners and renters should contact their insurance agent or company to inquire about the availability of flood insurance.  Flood insurance, once purchased, does not take effect for 30 days. The average flood insurance policy costs around $400.00 per year for about $100,000.00 of coverage.  Standard flood coverage does not typically cover damage resulting from sewer backups or sump pump issues.  For more information about insurance coverage in the event of a flood, visit the website www.insurance.illinois.gov or call (866) 445-5326.

BOOK RENTAL NOW INCLUDED IN TUITION AT GC

Greenville College will begin renting textbooks next fall to ensure all students have access to necessary course materials.  Tuition will include the book rental fee, eliminating the book expense most students encounter at the beginning of each term. The rental program will lower student textbook expenses up to 50%, based on recent cost estimates.  Textbook rental will be included for all Greenville College students at the main campus and partnership locations including undergraduates, graduates, and online students. Tree of Life book stores will provide the rental service.  The organization will order and deliver all rented textbooks and it will maintain a physical book store on campus with apparel, gifts, and books available for purchase.  A virtual store will be available for online orders.
