COOPERATIVE DRIVER TESTING PROGRAM AT GHS

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, Greenville High School will provide “Cooperative Driver Testing Program” services to the students enrolled in driver’s education.  The CDTP enables state certified driver education instructors to administer the behind-the-wheel road test to their driver education students.  The CDTP certificates, roads test waiver forms, are issued to those students who meet specific requirements. They must have a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel training, a combined final grade of A or B, approval from a parent or guardian, and pass an instructor-administered behind-the-wheel test. Schools are required to use letter grades for both the classroom and behind-the-wheel sections of the course. The Unit 2 Board of Education approved the change from pass/fail to a letter grading system.  Letter grades will be used to meet the requirements of CDTP but will not be used in computing a student’s overall grade point average.
