MULBERRY GROVE VILLAGE BOARD CONDEMNS LOCAL GAS STATION

At the recent Mulberry Grove Village Board meeting, the board voted unanimously to condemn the Jumpin Jimmys gas station and convenience store at the corner of Maple Street and Rt. 40.  The decision is based upon the appearance and condition of the building since removal of the restaurant and numerous building code violations.  The owner must bring the building up to code, secure a building permit to build a new building, or close the business.
Mayor Doug Enloe said local Cub Scouts will plant trees at the community park.  He is checking with the conservation department and other sources and will order three trees if they cost $25.00 each or less.
Dog owners must register their dogs by November 4 at the Village Hall.
No decision was made concerning repairing or replacing the village back hoe.  The general consensus was to repair the machine and use it for at least another three years.  A final decision will hopefully be made at the November meeting.
Trick-or-Treat hours for the Village of Mulberry Grove are Monday, October 31, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. for children twelve years old and younger.
The next meeting is Monday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m.
