2.5-3 INCHES OF SNOW FALLS IN GREENVILLE

The National Weather Service said Greenville would get between 2-4 inches of snow and they got it right.  2.4 inches of snow fell at the Sewer Plant and 3 inches fell 6th street and Idler and Route 140 as of 6AM Tuesday morning.  The snow was on the ground this morning but many of the city roads and highways had been cleared, and no freezing rain or drizzle fell in Greenville.  Always remember to drive slower, leave more time for travel and leave more space between yourself and other cars when traveling.

NATIONAL FFA WEEK

National FFA Week is February 19-25.  Greenville High School FFA Advisor Steve Zimmerman said Greenville FFA members will be sharing information about the FFA organization and agriculture throughout the world.  Zimmerman told WGEL their chapter planned several different activities including a work auction where students will be sold for an eight hour day of work.  The chapter will feed teachers and administrators at the school, a petting zoo is organized for Thursday, February 23, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. with a wide variety of agricultural animals, and agricultural activities are planned for students touring the petting zoo. Tractor Day is at the end of the week on which students drive tractors to school. Each day will have a different theme for a dress-up day and students are selecting the themes now.  For more information, call Mr. Zimmerman at 664-1370 ext 110.
