HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PLANS FUND RAISING ACTIVITY

A Habitat for Humanity fund raiser is scheduled for Saturday, April 14, from 6:30 p.m. – midnight at the Greenville VFW.  There will be food and drinks with music by DJ Brad Rogers.  The cost is $20.00 per person or $35.00 per couple.  Tickets are available at Bradford National Bank, Watson’s Drug Store, or Kalous Market.  Donations may be sent to: Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 496, Greenville, IL 62246.  Proceeds will help build the next home in Bond County.  For more information, call Barb at 267-7124.

TICKETS FOR COMETS GAME AT BUSCH STADIUM GOING FAST

Sunday, April 15, the Greenville Comets baseball team is playing the Edwardsville Tigers at Busch Stadium and tickets are going fast.  Greenville High School Athletic Director Joe Alstat said the Cardinals will play the Chicago Cubs at 1:15 p.m. and the Comets / Tigers follows immediately. To get your tickets, contact the Sunrise Daycare at the First Christian Church in Greenville right away.  Their number is 664-4508.  There are only about 100 tickets left.  When they are gone, about 1,800 tickets will have been sold for this game.

GREENVILLE FIRE DISTRICT FEBRUARY REPORT

Greenville Firefighters responded to nine calls in February 2012.  Responses included two grass or brush fires, one request to standby at the firehouse to provide mutual aid if needed, one assist to EMS, and five fire alarm system activations.

BOND COUNTY HEALTH BOARD TO MEET

The Bond County Health Board is scheduled to meet Monday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m.  The agenda includes by-laws amendments, revisions of job descriptions for family planning - office nurse and family nurse practitioner positions, and personnel policies.

POCAHONTAS AND SORENTO KINDERGARTEN SCREENING

Children who will be five years old on or before Saturday, September 1 are eligible for kindergarten enrollment.  Sorento School will conduct kindergarten screening and pre-registration Thursday, April 12, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Pocahontas school kindergarten screening and pre-registration is Friday, April 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  The entire process will take approximately 45 minutes.  Parents must bring birth certificates and immunization records.  For more information or to schedule a screening time, call Kim at Pocahontas at 669-2296, or Marsha at Sorento at 217-272-4111.
