AMERICAN FARM HERITAGE MUSEUM MONTHLY MEETING
The American Farm Heritage Museum members met this week. The “Little Red Barn” is now open and has attracted visits from schools and groups. Events coming soon include the Tractor Drive, Wheat Shocking and Tractor Pull June 9, annual meeting June 19, and Heritage Days July 27-29. Train rides are available the first Saturday of each month.
The board discussed items to include in Flamm Park. Swings, playground equipment, a pavilion, and picnic tables were all discussed and the general consensus was that the pavilion should be located near the center with items surrounding it.
The board is considering construction of a viewing stand about half way down the south side of the tractor pull track. It would be used to help judges get a better view of the tractor pull event and as a speakers stand.
This will be the American Farm Heritage Museum 9th summer show. Members have built, on average, one building per year with the support of the community and volunteers. Major accomplishments have been made in preserving a large part of the areas heritage.
