RELAY FOR LIFE THIS WEEKEND
This Friday is the Bond County Relay for Life at the Bond County Fairgrounds. This year’s theme is “Reality Relay” and will run overnight from 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. Saturday. Survivor registration will begins at 4:00 p.m. Friday with a survivor dinner at 5:00. The opening ceremony is at 6:00 and the Luminaria ceremony is at 9:00. Bring your family, set up your lawn chairs, and enjoy the food, beverages, and entertainment while supporting the fight against cancer. If you have any questions, call Patti Brooks at 960-4789.
NATIONALLY KNOWN QUILTER FEATURED AT TRUNK SHOW TODAY
A nationally known professional quilter will be featured at a trunk show and lecture Thursday, May 31 at the Greenville Free Methodist Church. Jennifer Reed said the Creative Stitchers Guild of Greenville is excited about sponsoring Pat Speth. Pat will also be having some workshops Thursday morning, and all day Friday. JAMES LEE STANLEY COMING TO GREENVILLE
Sunday, June 3, there is a special concert at the Globe Theater. Erin O’Toole said
James Lee Stanley is presenting a special Fiddleosophy Productions live concert from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. James Lee has been in the folk music business for approximately 50 years and has recorded with musicians from The Doors, The Monkees, and many more. Stanley is also on the Folk Alliance Board of Directors which is how Erin met him. Stanley heard about the local Songwriter’s Showcase and wanted to be a part of it so he agreed to perform a concert.
