MULBERRY GROVE RESIDENTS APPROACH VILLAGE BOARD ABOUT VANDALISM AT PARK

At the recent meeting of the Mulberry Grove Village Board, a group of citizens addressed the board with concerns of vandalism at the park.  They suggested changing the park hours and starting a Neighborhood Watch. Mayor Doug Enloe said security cameras are being installed at the park.  A no-warning policy is being considered.

A village resident suggested a revision of the grass ordinance.  The recommendation is for Police Officer Sutton to give one warning and then write citations for grass ordinance infractions.   The board will discuss the suggestion.

Officer Sutton said complaints have been received of juveniles loitering and damaging property.  Charges may be filed for property damage and parents will be held accountable.  According to the Illinois Child Curfew Act, persons under the age of seventeen are to be at home or at a designated home from 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday and from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

The board adopted the budget for May 1, 2012 – April 30, 2013.
Village Police Officer Robert Sutton and K-9 Officer “Bella” are in the fifth week of the police K-9 Academy.  After one more week of training, they will be state certified.
The next meeting is August 6, at 7:00 p.m.
