FUNDS NEEDED TO PRESERVE MR. ESCAPE MEMORIABILIA

Steve Baker, aka Mr. Escape, is a world-famous escape artist, originally from Irving, Illinois.  Efforts are being made to raise money so some of his memorabilia and personal items may be transported from California to Illinois. Mr. Escape told WGEL one of his favorite stunts was jumping out of a plane, hand-cuffed and in a straight-jacket, from 14,000 feet.  Mr. Escape said this stunt was particularly interesting because he had so little time.  Mr. Escape said he felt drawn to death-defying acts because he liked the challenge.  His website, www.mrescape.com, gives more information about his career and life, including information on his death-defying, hanging upside-down, strait-jacket escape from the Tribune Tower Building in Oakland, California.  An account has been established at First Community Bank in Hillsboro for donations toward helping preserve Mr. Escape’s legacy.  For more information, call Theresa Greenwood at 217-710-8470.
