FUNDRAISER PLANNED TO BENEFIT FLOYD AND BRENDA POST

A single vehicle motorcycle accident Sunday morning in Logan County sent two Greenville residents to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries.  According to the Illinois State Police, 66-year old Floyd Post was traveling northbound on Interstate 55 near mile post 113 when, for an unknown reason, he crossed from the far left lane of a three lane interstate and left the roadway to the right.  Post then traveled through a ditch and struck a fence near the interstate.  Floyd and his passenger, Brenda Post, 58, were both thrown from the motorcycle and taken to St. John’s Hospital, where they remain in the Intensive Care Unit in critical but stable condition.

Upon hearing the news of the accident, another Greenville resident, Randi Workman, got to work setting up a Facebook page called “Friends of Brenda Post” and planning a fundraiser to help the Post family with medical and travel expenses.

Brenda Post is the school secretary at Greenville Elementary School.  Workman told WGEL that Post is the first and last face you see at GES, so they selected Brenda’s office location, Door Three, as the site of the fundraiser.  Everyone is invited to Door Three at Greenville Elementary School this Thursday night at 6 p.m.  They will be collecting cash donations as well as contributions of gas cards to help with travel expenses and gift cards to local restaurants so Brenda’s family can easily provide meals to their children while they’re busy traveling to and from Springfield.

You can find the “Friends of Brenda Post” page on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/157107527815805/

For more information, or if you can’t make it to the fundraiser Thursday night but want to contribute, contact Randi Workman at 972-9804.
