TRIAD HIGH SCHOOL BAND AND COLOR GUARD GO TO DISNEY

Members of the Triad High School Band and Color Guard recently went on a fun and educational trip to Florida, including the Walt Disney World Resort.

Triad High School Band Director Kevin Devany said the band and color guard travelled to Florida and participated in various performing arts workshops. While there they visited Disney, the Kennedy Space Center, and Cocoa Beach.

In their workshop, the Triad Color Guard trained with a cast member who works at Disney World.  They were later given the opportunity to perform with Goofy, which Devany said was a tremendous surprise for the students.  The band visited Epcot and worked with professional musicians who have recorded for movies.  The kids performed at Downtown Disney for an audience.

Devany told WGEL it was a fantastic trip that the students worked hard to earn.  He also added that they received a tremendous amount of support from the administration, board of education, and the community.
