At Tuesday’s Bond County Board meeting, announcements were made regarding the 2017 Bond County bicentennial celebration.
John Coleman, chairman of the Bicentennial Committee, reported that a kickoff event will be held Thursday, January 5 at 7 PM at the Bond County Courthouse. The event is free and will be open to the public.
The main Bond County Bicentennial Celebration will be held Sunday, July 2. The event will include tours of the courthouse and grounds, a parade, music, vendors, and fireworks.

Circuit Court Judge John Knight will preside over the opening ceremony on January 5th.
The July 2nd celebration will conclude with the annual Bond County Fourth Fest’s fireworks display in downtown Greenville.
