Wilma J. Hemann, age 86 of Carlyle, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, Illinois, on Sunday, November 12, 2017.
Wilma was born in Lake Township on November 24, 1930, a daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Backs) Thouvenin. She married Joseph B. Hemann at Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle on June 5, 1965, and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2005.
Wilma is survived by a sister – Norma Lappe and husband Wilson of Carlyle; a brother – Roger Thouvenin and wife Doris of Kentucky; a sister-in-law – Vi Thouvenin of Huey; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; 2 sisters – Virginia Thouvenin and Sharon Hotz; and 2 brothers – Floyd and Ron Thouvenin.
Mrs. Hemann worked at the Moran Shoe Factory in Carlyle, then as a communications technician at Scott Air Force Base. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle, Illinois with Rev. Timothy Landskroener, officiating. Interment will follow at Carlyle Township Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Hemann will be held at Zieren Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 8:00 – 10:30 A.M.
