Joyce A. Oravec, age 78 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur , MO.

She was born February 23, 1939, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Orville M. and Delma B. (nee Bleisch) Widman.

On April 26, 1958, she married Robert J. Oravec at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL. He survives in Highland, IL.

She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church.

Joyce was born and grew up in Highland, IL. She was a graduate of Saint Paul Catholic High School 1957. She worked for Dr. Hediger. She then worked part-time at Gutzler’s Tom Boy Market for 35 years as a cashier. She and her husband lived on Lakeland Terrace in early 1980. She was an Eucharistic Minister for Highland Home. She was part of the Funeral Choir at Saint Paul Catholic Church. Every Monday, she prayed the adoration at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Her faith and entire family were very important to her.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL., with Rev. Father Pat G. Jakel officiating.

Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Williams Sndrome Association (WSA) or Saint Paul School Educational Foundaiton.
