The Greenville High School softball team picked up a victory Tuesday afternoon, beating Vandalia 9 to 1.
Kayla Dannaman banged out four hits for GHS, and Lauren Meadows and Nancy Fritzsche hit home runs.
The softball girls play at Triad Thursday, at Pana Friday and host Trenton Wesclin Saturday.
The Comet tennis boys were in the Triad Quadrangular and won two of three contests. The wins were over Collinsville and Jacksonville and the Comets lost to Triad.
The tennis team is at home against Granite City on Thursday, hosts Hillsboro Friday and travels to Teutopolis Saturday.
The baseball Comets were handed their first South Central Conference loss of the season Tuesday. Vandalia came to Greenville and posted a 3 to 1 victory.
The Comets host Highland Thursday, go to Pana Friday, and play at home Saturday against Carlyle and North Clay.
The Lady Comets’ soccer team was edged at Staunton, 2 to 1 in overtime. The Greenville goal was scored by Hannah Simpson.
GHS celebrates senior night Friday with a game against Freeburg. The contest starts at 5:30 p.m.
